What is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure that requires little to no downtime. It is considered safe for almost everyone and its only side effects are minor redness and irritation a few days after the procedure. The way that it works is by stimulating collage production; that is why it is also known as collagen induction therapy. The treatment has also shown to be effective for treating acne scars and stretch marks.
Why get Microneedling?
Microneedling is not effective for the treatment for people with hair loss. Though there have been studies that have linked collagen production to hair growth, this is not enough to prove causation. Patients can consult with their doctor to see if microneedling will be able to handle their specific problem.

What are the Benefits?
The procedure itself is about two hours and you may need at least four procedures or even more in order to see the best results. It is not an invasive procedure so it will not require much downtime. The redness that many patients see on their skin following the procedure is a result of the skin healing to the small “injuries” caused by the needles. However, this redness will fade over time and you will be able to hide the redness, If you are uncomfortable, with camouflaging makeup.
Because your skin will be more sensitive than it normally is, it is important that you use sunscreen. This will aid to speed up the healing. That said, your skin should be working hard to heal the “injured” skin on its own. Therefore, you should see significant results within a few weeks.
